FAQs

Why should I consider therapy?

People consider therapy for all kinds of reasons—feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. It gives you a steady place to sort through life with someone who’s trained to help you make sense of what you’re carrying. If you want clarity, support, or a healthier way of navigating what’s in front of you, therapy can be a meaningful place to start.

What can I expect during our therapy sessions?

In our sessions, you can expect a calm, supportive space where we talk through what’s going on in your life and what you want to work toward. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and I’ll guide the process while staying focused on your goals.

Is everything we discuss confidential?

Yes. Privacy is a core part of the therapy process, and what you share in our sessions is protected by law. There are a few specific exceptions, and I’ll go over those with you when we meet for the first time.

How long does therapy last?

Therapy doesn’t last forever. The length really depends on your goals and what you’re hoping to work through, but most people spend a stretch of time building momentum and then step back once they feel more grounded and equipped. We’ll check in along the way to make sure the pace and timeline fit what you need.

How often will we meet?

How often we meet depends on what works for your schedule and budget, but I usually recommend starting weekly for a few months. Meeting consistently in the beginning helps build momentum and gives us time to form a solid working relationship. After that, we can talk about spacing sessions out in a way that still supports your goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. If something unexpected comes up, I offer a one-time grace session so you’re not charged in an emergency. After that, late cancellations or missed sessions are treated as “paid-for” and are billed at the full fee.
